April showers bring May flowers! But you need something fun and funky to put them in. Why settle for a plan ordinary vase when you can make your own? Follow these tips to make your vase as pretty as your flowers.
- Two for one. Put a smaller vase into a larger vase, and then fill up the larger vase with decorative beads, marbles, or even colorful candy! Place the flowers into the smaller vase and you’ve got an instant showpiece!
- Wrap it up. This trick works best for tall, skinny vases. Pick up some pretty handmade paper from your local craft store. Measure and cut the paper to the right height, then coat the back with white glue, making sure the sealant goes to the edge. Gently press the paper around the vase, pushing firmly to remove any air bubbles. As soon as it’s dry, it’s ready for display!
- Add some class to the glass! Re-purpose old Mason jars into one-of-a-kind vases by adding some simple spray paint. Take them outside, spread some newspaper, and spray your color of choice for a modern, matte finish.
