Cybele MalinowksiThe first half of 2012 will officially be over in about two weeks, and there have certainly been a lot of interesting musical developments in the past six months.  Which ones were the most memorable?  Billboard wants to know.

The publication is asking fans to vote online for its Mid-Year Music Awards, to determine the biggest musical milestones of 2012...so far.  You can vote for music's all-around MVP of 2012 so far, plus your favorite #1 album, favorite #1 song, best newcomer, most shocking moment, most memorable feud and other categories.

For the MVP of 2012, you have a choice between everyone from Justin Bieber and Carrie Underwood, to Madonna, One Direction and Gotye.  For Favorite Hot 100 #1 song, Adele's "Set Fire to the Rain" and Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" will compete with Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger," fun.'s "We Are Young" and more.

Favorite #1 album candidates include Adam Lambert's Trespassing, Adele's 21, One Direction's Up All Night and The Hunger Games soundtrack, among others.  Best Newcomer nominees include The Wanted, One Direction, Carly Rae Jepsen and others.

Nominees for most memorable feud include Madonna vs. Lady Gaga, of course, but also the relatively recent Chris Brown vs. Drake throwdown.

As for the most shocking moment, some of the nominees include M.I.A. giving the finger at the Super Bowl, and Chris Brown and Rihanna teaming up to appear on each others' songs, but it's likely that one of the other choices will win: Whitney Houston's death.

You can write in your choices in each category.  Vote now at Billboard.com, and all the winners will be announced at the end of next week.
