Paul McCartney paid a visit to Graceland Sunday and tweeted a photo of himself leaving a guitar pick on Elvis Presley’s grave.

According to the London Daily Mail, Paul said he left the pick on the grave "so Elvis could play in heaven.”

It was the former Beatle's first visit to Graceland.  He was in Memphis this past weekend on a concert stop for his Out There tour.

McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr first met Elvis in Los Angeles back in 1965. According to the Daily Mail, the Fab Four was so overwhelmed at first, they were speechless.  The newspaper says the King finally broke the ice by saying, "Well, if you guys are just gonna sit there and stare at me all night, I'm going to bed."  Elvis reportedly then called for guitars to be handed out so they could have a jam session.

McCartney’s Out There tour continues Wednesday night in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
