HBO recently announced that season 3 of Boardwalk Empire will premiere on Sunday, September 16th at 9pm. Hopefully that will be enough time for fans to finish grieving from the show's risky decision to kill off its best (best, of course, meaning most handsome) character during last year's season finale.

While speaking on an Academy of Television Arts and Sciences panel, the show's creator Terence Winter hinted at what one can expect from the Season 3 premiere; "It's New Year's Eve 1922, going into 1923. The world has changed quite a bit. Things have gotten quite a bit more violent as Prohibition has gone on and people are running out of liquor. Hence Nucky's world is going to change." More violent? How can a series with its own array of YouTube murder montages  possibly get more violent? Guess we'll have to wait till September 16th to find out.
