Kacey Musgraves is Country Music’s latest upset. With a repertoire of music that challenges everything you thought you knew about being a country girl, it’s no surprise she still packs all the charm of a Southern Belle. Her debut album Same Trailer Different Park attracted enough attention to earn her four nominations at the 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards. She’s up for Best Country Album, Best Country Song twice over for “Merry Go ‘Round, and “Mama’s Broken Heart,” in addition to her nomination in the category of Best New Artist. We are excited to support Musgraves in partnership with The Recording Academy as one of this year’s participants in the 56th GRAMMY’s Best New Artist Program.

At just 25, Musgraves has proven her talent for writing smart, egdy and relatable songs that attract a generation of music lovers interested in listening to music that talks about life as they know it. From boyfriends and being broke, to breakups and silver linings, Musgraves isn’t afraid to tell it like it is.

Spending a day on the road with the young singer/songwriter makes it apparent that she’s a team player. Her bandmates treat her like family, collaboration is an essential part of her writing process, and her dog even comes on tour with her! At this point in her career she’s just learning to take it one step at a time and appreciate the thrills. “Too many times we’re really just focused on what’s next,” she worries, “I really want to remember all these crazy firsts that are happening to me.”
