Wyld Stallyns to excellently ride again as Bill & Ted go back to the future (News)
While obviously not as cool as the news surrounding his Kung Fu camera, Keanu Reeves has shared a handful of plot details for the upcoming Bill & Ted sequel. From a fascinating GQ interview with Ted himself, Reeves describes the plot, in which our heroes are burdened with writing the greatest song in history:
"The guys have just drifted off into esoterica and lost their rock. And we go on this expedition, go into the future to find out if we wrote the song, and one future "us" refuses to tell us, and another future "us" blames us for their lives because we didn't write the song, so they're living this terrible life."
Based on this metaphysical description alone, it sounds like this might be the perfect project for Terrence Malick. But alas, Galaxy Quest director Dean Parisot is at the helm, and we're left wondering if this is going to be a hilarious revisiting or a sad reality check that Reeves and Alex Winter are simply too old for the material. And we just don't like thinking about Bill & Ted without George Carlin's Rufus.
