If the phrase, “Ooh girl, shock me like an electric eel,” rings a bell, you already know the song that shot Ben Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden AKA. MGMT into the spotlight. “Electric Feel,” was one of the biggest breakout hits electronic indie music saw in the late 2000’s. Now six years after the release of their acclaimed album Oracular Spectacular the duo plans to release a self-titled album and take it on tour.

Promising a stark departure from the radio-friendly hits on their first EP, MGMT has put together some added features to roll out with the album. “The Optimizer,” is a program that includes video and CGI components created by Andrew Benson, Emilio Gomariz, Geoffrey Lillemon, and Chris Timms that will be available to those who purchase enhanced album packages.  Alejandro Crawford, the director of The Optimizer, calls it “a simultaneously aural & optical listening experience.”
