Sinead O'Connor is "extremely concerned" about Miley Cyrus.
The 46-year-old Irish star has warned the 'Wrecking Ball' hitmaker, who recently cited the 'Nothing Compares 2 U' singer has the inspiration for her latest music video in which she appears naked, that she is distracting people from her "obvious" talent and has urged her to be a better role model.
In an open letter to the 20-year-old singer on her official website, Sinead wrote: "I am extremely concerned for you that those around you have led you to believe, or encouraged you in your own belief, that it is in any way 'cool' to be naked and licking sledgehammers in your videos."
She added: "The music business doesn't care about you, or any of us."
Sinead also encouraged Miley to cover up and make the most of her body in private with a boyfriend.
She said: "Women are to be valued for so much more than their sexuality. We aren't merely objects of desire. I would be encouraging you to send healthier messages to your peers.. that they and you are worth more than what is currently going on in your career."
