The hard-hitting sounds of Savages’ “I am Here” cut through the fog in the band’s new video. A take on composer Alvin Lucier’s 1969 performance piece “I Am Sitting In A Room,” Savages performed the song in a room wired to record their performance. They then played the recording back in that same room, re-recording it to distort and play with the sound. This process was repeated several times until the product resulted in a tone and texture they were happy with.
