On a day when attention was largely focused on Manchester United's past with Sir Alex Ferguson's book launch, the club's players and coaches themselves were preparing for Wednesday's Champions League match against Real Sociedad.

The champions will be looking to build on the four points they've collected from their two European games so far when they host the Spaniards and David Moyes doesn't expect his predecessor's book to cause any trouble.

The United manager also played down concerns that Wayne Rooney 's good form could be destabilised after Ferguson confirmed in his book the striker wanted to leave the club and criticised his fitness.

"He has great qualities about him but they could be swallowed up by a lack of fitness," Ferguson wrote.

"I think Wayne (Rooney) is completely focused on his football," Moyes said.

"He has been since the first day back in the pre-season. He's in good form so I've got no problems with him. Wayne's looking after himself and playing well."
