Blake Shelton’s had a pretty standout year in 2013. His Southern charm shone brightly when he released his No. 1 album Based On A True Story. His knack for captivating audiences on the small screen saw him coach the winning contestants on The Voice, a gig he’s gladly returning to this season. Both an entertainer and a humanitarian, Blake worked tirelessly to combine his celebrity connections with a heavy heart and organized Healing in the Heartland, a fundraiser for survivors of the Oklahoma tornado.

To cap off such an incredible year, Shelton leads the pack in the list of nominees for the 47th Annual CMA Awards. He’s nominated for both Entertainer of the Year, and Male Vocalist of the Year, running up against talents like Taylor Swift, Luke Bryan, and Jason Aldean. Both major honors, Shelton’s domination of the big categories indicates his rising reign over country music in 2013. He’s also in the running for Musical Event of the Year, Album of the Year for Based On A True Story, and Music Video of the Year for “Boys Round Here,” ft. Pistol Annies.

The 47th Annual CMA Awards hosted by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley will air live on ABC on November 6. Check out the full list of nominees below.  Not familiar? Get to know their music in the Pepsi Pulse CMA Awards iTunes Radio Station here.
