If you're tired of listening to "Royals" for the millionth time, now you can check out some new music from Lorde. She's recorded a new version of Tears for Fears' 1985 hit "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" for the soundtrack of the highly anticipated Hunger Games sequel, Catching Fire, and now you can check out a one-and-a-half-minute snippet of the song streaming at MTV.com.
Lorde has made the upbeat '80s classic, which hit #1, very much her own, and her darker take on the classic single is resonating with Tears for Fears member Curt Smith, who notes he’s thrilled with Lorde’s new version.
"I think it's absolutely amazing," Smith tells MTV Hive. "But then I love her, I think she's brilliant…We love it when other people cover our stuff. Sometimes we steal them and use their version live."
You may be familiar with another interesting remake of a Tears for Fears song: Gary Jules' take on their single "Mad World" was a big hit in 2001, and was later covered by Adam Lambert on American Idol.
The Catching Fire soundtrack arrives in stores November 19, with songs from Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, The Lumineers and Of Monsters and Men.
