The 2014 CMT Awards are right around the corner, and we’re shaking in our boots with excitement to see country’s biggest all stars turn out. Kristen Bell is hosting the evening’s festivities. At this point she’s a seasoned pro, this year marks her third in a row as the CMT Awards’ gracious hostess.

The CMT Awards run the gamut on country music’s best songs, videos, performances and albums. The entire process is based on voting, so the musicians being awarded are 100% fan-approved. The show itself will feature more live performances than any year previously. The likes of Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Brantley Gilbert, Hunter Hayes, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Kacey Musgraves, Jake Owen and many more will perform live during the festivities.

When it comes to the awards themselves, competition is cutthroat. 2014 saw so many amazing contributions to the genre that there are over 100 nominations across eight different categories. Dierks Bentley’s recent collaboration with OneRepublic earned him a nomination for performance of the year. The visuals for Florida Georgia Line’s banger “This Is How We Roll,” ft. Jason Aldean locked the group in as nominees for Video of the Year. Cassadee Pope’s “Wasting All These Tears,” propelled her into the running for Breakthrough Video of the Year. To find out which musicians raked in the most votes, and to see what your favorite country artists are wearing on the red carpet, tune in June 4at 8pm EST on CMT!
