The New Pornographers are finally back. Four years since the release of their last album (2010's "Together") the power-popping supergroup today announced plans to release its sixth studio album -- titled "Brill Bruisers" -- Aug. 26 via Matador.

Speaking of core members Newman and Case, the entire, indie star-studded lineup took part in the creation of "Brill Bruisers," including the other main songwriter, Destroyer's Dan Bejar.

And it certainly seems like this will be a happy album. Calling it a "celebration record," Newman says via press release, "After periods of difficulty, I am at a place where nothing in my life is dragging me down and the music reflects that."
They also announced a bunch of 2014 tour dates, most of which include openers the Pains of Being Pure at Heart, making for a match made in pop heaven.
