Janelle Monae’s “Heroes” got a dazzling accompanying short film, also aptly called “Heroes,” available here, conceived by a talented collective of creators called The Young Astronauts. Putting a poignant and still-jubilant spin on David Bowie’s iconic song, both the film and the track received a proud shout out from the Thin White Duke himself, along with legions of fans who dug the song’s reworked rhythm and celluloid re-imagination.

Don Omar is not only an internationally recognized Reggaeton artist, he is an influencer creating music to entertain and inspire, and his track for Pepsi Beats of the Beautiful Game album does all that and more. The ultimate-motivational song for football players and fans alike, acclaimed music video and film director Jessy Terrero encapsulates the same invigorating spirit for the football-themed short film. Jessy Terrero is best known for his groundbreaking work and very famous clientele, including superstars of hip-hop and reggaeton like Don Omar. Hint: shot on location in Mexico City, this film focuses on a very unconventional technique for pulling a team together. Hint: Super-hot choreographer Caspar Smart’s vision for the dynamic moves plus an unexpected cameo appearance by actor Wilmer Valderrama make this “Pura Vida” one that can’t be missed!
About the Pepsi Beats of the Beautiful Game: The group of musicians selected to be a part of this unprecedented visual soundtrack, not only span musical genres, but also global borders. All of the musicians on The Pepsi Beats of the Beautiful Game share one defining trait: the never- ending drive to achieve their goals. Musicians such as are Kelly Rowland, Janelle Monáe, Don Omar, Rita Ora, R3hab, Eva Simons, Jetta, Santigold, Timbaland, Rachel Assil, Pearls Negras, Jolin Tsai Yl-ling and Hassan el Shafei were paired with directors such as Spike Lee, Idris Elba, The Young Astronauts, Jessy Terrero, Diego Luna, Andy Morahan, The Kolton Brothers, Cine Favela, and Cai Yiqi, who were given complete creative freedom to bring the songs and football stories to life. They had but two mandates – include the song, and capture the spirit of football. The result, a series of remarkable short films that audibly and visually captures the vibrant sights, sounds and stories that unite fans with the game of football.
