10 Things You Didn't Know About Ariana Grande
After shamelessly scouring the Internet for everything Ariana Grande, we found some surprising facts about the Florida-born singer, who’s pretty much one of pop music’s most promising “it-girls.” For those of you unfamiliar with Grande, you may recognize her voice from 2013 popular track, “The Way” featuring Mac Miller. If you’re a frequenter on the Nickelodeon channel, then you probably know her from the hit show, Victorious, or her Victorious spin-off, Cat and the Hat. And now with her smash-single, “Problem” (featuring Iggy Azalea) taking over the airwaves this summer, this 20-year-old singer is about to reach superstar status.
Her sophomore album My Everything is expected to drop any day, and if it’s anything like the first (which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart last year,) it should do extremely well, if not better. Today, she surprised fans with not one, but four brand new songs from the album. From the Cashmere Cat-produced "Be My Baby," to her latest collaboration with The Weeknd, "Love Me Harder," they paint an exciting portrait of the album we've been waiting for. Stream them above.

She Started Out On Broadway
The multi-talented Grande got her big break on Broadway, starring as Charlotte in the musical 13. Although she wasn’t the biggest star of this show, her next move to Nickelodeon definitely gave her more limelight. You can check out a video of a young Grande talking about her Broadway role above.
She’s a Nickelodeon TV Star

She's Not the Biggest Fan of Red-Carpet Events
Even a famous popstar can have her fair share of nerves. According to Nick.com, Grande gets very anxious when hitting the red carpet, especially due to her overstepping critics. Grande has received backlash for always styling her hair in a ponytail and for wearing extensions. But as the star herself explained on Instagram, she styles her hair this way because it’s extremely damaged from constantly dying it red for her Cat Valentine role on Nickelodeon.

Keeping close ties to where she grew up, Grande help to co-found a youth singing in South Florida. The group is called Kids Who Care, and through putting on performances the group raises thousands of dollars every year.

She Has Spoken Up About Bullying
In 2012, the singer wrote a piece for The Huffington Post about her thoughts on bullying. Entitled, "Even Performers Like Me Get Bullied," the young Grande shared her advice and love, telling fans to “be happy with being you. Love your flaws. Own your quirks. And know that you are just as perfect as anyone else, exactly as you are.” And even shared some of her (grandmother) Nonna’s advice, who at her age, still faces harsh criticism and explains, "'You know why? It’s 'cause I’m fabulous.'"
