Alicia Keys Releases Video for App Theme Song "Unlock Yourself"
ABC/Ida Mae AstuteOn Friday, Alicia Keys released the video for "Unlock Yourself," the theme song from her new storytelling app, The Journals of Mama Mae and LeeLee.
The video begins with a locket suspended in space that opens to take viewers into the world of Alicia's characters. In it, we see a turquoise-colored piano playing itself as Alicia is heard singing the encouraging words, "Unlock yourself/ Be who you're meant to be... You have the power to be who you want."
In the video, objects spin and move on their own including a swirling, miniature, gold piano and wall murals that change as the room opens to a nighttime cityscape before becoming a sprouting tree with a message amidst its leaves that encourages viewers to believe in the power of their dreams.
As previously reported, Alicia says that the app centers on the story of a little girl named Leelee, who's just moved to the big city, and her grandmother Mama Mae.
