Musically speaking, Detroit, Michigan is best known for being the birthplace of Motown and its discoveries like The Supremes and The Temptations. These days, as the city acts as a poster child for the United States’ recession, a young arts scene continues to flourish. Two of such young musicians who proudly call Detroit their home produce their art under the quirky moniker Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. The duo of Daniel Zott and Joshua Epstein first hit the scene with their colorful, 2011 debut It’s A Corporate World. Earlier this fall, they released their sophomore follow-up The Speed of Things, in which their Detroit pride shouts through charming harmonies, musical precision, and most of all, feel-good pop.

The group stopped by the Baeble Music headquarters in New York City to perform an acoustic version of The Speed of Things‘ moving track “A Haunting” and to discuss how they’ve grown since the debut. Watch the video above.
