An exhibition about the world's most famous rock band will arrive at one of the largest malls in the U.S. today.  The traveling exhibit "Ladies and Gentlemen…The Beatles!" will open at the Midwest Music Museum, located inside the famous Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota.

The display, which is curated by the Grammy Museum and U.K.-based Fab Four Exhibits, celebrates the 50th anniversary of the start of Beatlemania in the U.S. and features a variety of interesting memorabilia and interactive experiences.

Among the historic items that will be on display are a jacket Paul McCartney wore during the Fab Four's concert at Shea Stadium in New York, a drum head from the kit Ringo Starr played on The Ed Sullivan Show, the jacket Ringo is wearing on the Abbey Road album's cover, rare recordings by the group, a variety of photos and Beatles-related contracts and documents.

The exhibit also offers interactive attractions, including one that shows visitors how to play drums like Starr and an "Oral History Booth" where fans can share their Beatles memories.

The exhibition will run until September 7.  Capacity is limited, so the museum suggests visitors purchase tickets in advance, which can be done in person at the Mall of America's gift stores and online at

The Mall of America is located on the site of Metropolitan Stadium, the venue where the band played its first concert ever in Minnesota.
