Country Summer Jams: The Best of 2014
The key to a good summer party is to have a rockin’ summer jam playlist. The songs should invoke the spirit of why we all love summer the most. The longer nights, the warm sunny days and the trips to our favorite beaches, rivers, field parties and destinations we all live for during the summer. Here we’ve compiled some of 2014’s biggest summer jams to help serve as the soundtrack to your summer fun.
1. Billy Currington “We Are Tonight”
Billy Currington’s inclusion on a summer jams list is required when you look at his past hits like “Hey Girl” and “Good Directions.” He’s figured out a way to crank out anthem-like summer jams and “We Are Tonight” may be the biggest, most summer-ready jam he’s ever cranked out.
2. Florida Georgia Line & Luke Bryan - “This Is How We Roll”
Florida Georgia Line knows how to crank out rockin’, feel-good summer jams and for this one they bring in Luke Bryan to join in all of the fun about their lifestyle and who they’re all about, something we’re all about too.
3. Blake Shelton “Small Town Big Time”
Having fun with your friends out in the country, on vacation with your family? This one’s all about big fun, nightly, along the rural route and city squares. Or maybe it’s just about the feeling of being there, no matter where you are.
4. Chase Rice “Ready Set Roll”
If summer’s all about going somewhere in a truck with the one you love, then what’s better than a song that talks about that very same topic.
5. Scotty McCreery - “Feelin’ It”
Scotty McCreery showcases his youth on this song about the way we all get ready to go out to have good times with out friends. It’s all about being wild, carefree and enjoying time with your friends and family.
6. Dustin Lynch “Where It’s At”
This rising star’s hit is destined to be one of the biggest summer jams of 2014 if for no other reason than the percussive groove but the lyrics about knowing where your priorities are, that’s being with the one you love, and how being with them is what makes the summertime party what it is.
7. Brad Paisley - “River Bank”
An innertube, a trailer hitch, a boat, some cold drinks, and day down along the river with your family and friends? What more does anyone need? According to Brad Paisley and this summer jam, nothing.
8. Sam Hunt - “Leave The Night On”
One of the songwriters behind fellow summer jam “We Are Tonight,” Sam Hunt has found an interesting way to tell a story of not wanting the night where you fall in love to end.
9. Luke Bryan - “Play It Again”
This charming song is all about good times, great vibes and wanting to keep on dancing to music with the ones you love. It’s about being in the moment and living life, a key component to a good summer jam.
10. Jake Owen - “Beachin’”
The sing-song-y “Beachin’” has to be our #1 song of the summer. It’s all about sunshine, good times and tanlines, pretty much the definition of summer packed into a three minute tune.
