The short film for “Unstoppable” – the latest hit from Dutch producer and DJ heavyweight R3HAB, featuring fellow Dutch dance-music sensation Eva Simons – launches today off Pepsi Beats of the Beautiful Game. An anthem celebrating never-ending drive and the talent within, “Unstoppable” was created exclusively for the album.
A three-time IDMA winner who has risen through the ranks of ‘Breakthrough Artist,’ ‘Best Full-Length Mixer’ and ‘Best Remixer,’ R3HAB has done it again with “Unstoppable” – an infectious summer smash penned by celebrated singer/songwriter Chantal Kreviazuk.
R3HAB is no stranger to teamwork. He collaborates with artists from all over the world, remixing tracks for Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Calvin Harris and more. He even got his break into the music industry by joining forces with another electronic DJ, Hardwell, in 2008.
Kicking the track into overdrive by adding bold and unapologetic vocals, Eva Simons believes music and sport are fundamentally intertwined: “I think we inspire each other. When I am in the gym, I need music. It drives me to give a maximum performance.” That build up to peak intensity mirrors the progression of “Unstoppable,” tracing a slow, but purposeful introduction towards a hard-hitting four-to-the-floor drop at its peak. Simons chants, “like a fireball fighting through it all – I'm unstoppable.” The track pushes and inspires, something that football players, fans and music lovers can all celebrate.
“The songs and short films featured on the album vary in style and rhythm, just like footballers on a pitch,” said R3HAB. “My track ‘Unstoppable’ is inspired by the big-room sound and high energy of the stadium. I want fans who listen to it to get up and move.”
The invincible feeling created from listening to “Unstoppable” was visually captured by triple-threat actor/director/rapper Idris Elba. Elba’s short-film takes place in the 1970s, a golden age for international football, and features football skills expert Zach Hamilton. "I love the whole '70s era, the haircuts, the style. I chose a character that is stereotypically a nerd, isn't sporty looking, but it turns out that he really is. He is unstoppable once he starts to let himself go. I love that ideology that someone who is unassuming, whose talent you don't realize finally shows you and it's like, 'Wow.'" Exploring the hidden-talents within all of us, the film is the first effort from Elba’s new production shingle – Green Door Pictures.
